solicitors fees

Hi
What do I do if I don't agree with the final bill from a solicitor?
I had an initial meeting with a paralegal, a letter was sent to my ex regarding returning my car to me, there was one phone call from me asking them to send a copy of said letter to his mothers address. There was a further call from me to them informing them that my ex had been in touch with DVLA and had got a new V5 in his own name and asking if this was legal. I just got a bill from them for close to £200!!!
Is there anything I can do? If i write to them disputing it, will they charge me again for reading my letter and responding?

Hi SingleSue A solicitor
Hi SingleSue
A solicitor should always send out ‘client care information’ at the start of any matter setting out their terms and conditions of business. These should include an estimate of the likely cost of dealing with your matter, charge out rates, the qualification of advisers, and details what to do if you have a complaint.
In addition each firm must have a person responsible for dealing with complaints and it is better if you raise your concerns with them first. They cannot charge you for this.

I hope this helps.
