A search of the internet will reveal many sites offering stamp duty savings if a transaction is structured in a particular way.

Clients should be very wary of the efficacy of such schemes which incur hefty fees and may not be effective.

Indeed HM Revenue and Customs has just issued a statement warning that the department is looking closely at these arrangements and will take action where appropriate.
