Redundancy and knowledge transfer

Hi

I'm on the process of having my position being made redundant by my company. I understand that my position is not needed anymore, but the company wants me to give training to other people so they can do my job.

If my position is not needed then why would I have to transfer a knowledge that is not needed to somebody else? Can I refuse to do this without affecting my redundancy fee?
