Pubs and clubs openly breaching the Equality Act 2010
Although it rarely effects me, it does annoy me that pubs and clubs still flaunt the Equality Act 2010 with "ladies only" offers such as free entry and reduced drink prices. It seems to be the industry standard and widely accepted.
I have started a Facebook Group with the hope to having pubs and clubs change their marketing and offers so that they don't descriminate based on gender.
The first response back was on one hand positive in that they would extend the offer to guys who implicitly asked, but negative in that they think they know the law and are actually making no changes. This is obviously to the detriment of the general public who are not armed with information on the Equality Act.
I will look into it further, obviously it would be a open and shut civil case if they advertised a ladies only drinks deal and then refused the same to a male that asked, but what of the people that don't ask?
Even if the pubs and clubs do offer the same pricing regardless of gender, then surely there advertising to women would be misleading by implying they are getting a "special" offer for being female, whereas in reality they are not?

I don't agree with this
I don't agree with this either. Pubs should definitely make special offers available to both sexes.
