Professional Institute
As a member of a professional institute I had cause to submit a number of formal complaints against them. The institute ( a limited company ) refused to address the complaints, giving the reason that it was their certification board that the complaints related to. (Their certification board is legally part of the professional institute but has no legal standing of its own). I attempted to address my complaints through their Certification Board who denied me access to their complaints process. They subsequenlty (several months later) issued to me a retrospective complaints process which demanded payment from me in return for dealing with my complaints. They have refused to answer my questions in connection with why I was not allowed access to the existing complaints process. In the meantime, they have withdrawn a number of services from me (they have confirmed this in writing) until such a time that I confirm in writing to them that there is no threat of legal action from me. Despite the fact that they have withdrawn their services, they continue to take membership fees from me. Is this a breach of contract by the Professional Institute?

I have to say I have never
I have to say I have never come across an organisation which demanded money before investigating a complaint.
When you join a professional body generally speaking there are terms and conditions which apply to both the organisation and the individual.
If either party does not adhere to these there would be a breach of contract.
You should check the rule book or terms of membership. You can then quote that in your future dealings.
I'm afraid they just don't
I'm afraid they just don't respond to them.
If the organisation is
If the organisation is ignoring you and they are in breach of their own rules then court action may be the only way forward.
Depending on the actual body judicial review may be available.
Either way the cost will be extremely high.
I find it odd that a representative institute simply ignores you.
Who are you talking about here?
Can you say precisely what you want of them?
