Points on Driving License vs car insurance

I have got SP30 3 points on my driving license and I paid 60£. I have to renew car insurance and companies want charge me more around 70£ because of this SP30. My question is how many times can I be punished for one conviction? What about double jeopardy rules, are they apply to this situation?

The points indicate that you are a greater risk for insurance companies. This is not a matter of double jeopardy.
