Parking Ticket UKPC (surprise)

Hi and thank you for any help or information I receive in advance.

I play in the local Pool League and Captain a team, I have just been to drop the result/scorecard off at the local pool centre which is the same building as the Jobcentre though the Car park is clearly for the Pool place (The Jobcentre is directly below the Pool Hall).

Anyway I parked there and nipped in the Job Centre first to ask a question about help with eyecare, I thought I'd be in and out within 2 mins but there was a queue but still I was only five minutes.  When I came out I had a ticket so I took it upstairs to the pool place and there was Mr Sneaky looking out of the Window scanning the Car Park below, I had a chat and showed my scorecard to which he acknowledged I was always intending to visit them as the card has to be in by noon Saturday, he told me they get 50 people a day parking there who don't intend to use the facilities and that he cannot overturn the ticket but the owner could and said I could possibly catch him Monday Morning.

I asked a girl working behind the bar in the Pool Hall about it and she said someone has done the same before and they wouldn't overturn it.

I use their facilities regularly and the same applies on this visit as the Pool League results box is kept on their premises so my question is:

Does the quick detour to the Jobcentre (which is on the floor below the Pool Centre) constitute a misuse of the car Park given that I wasn't long and that the one reason I parked in that spot was to visit the Pool centre?  which the Parking guy acknowledged!

Seems harsh to give out a fine because upon getting out of the car I saw the Jobcentre directly in front of me and on the spur of the moment thought I'd best find out if I can get help to get some new glasses sorted as the ones I have are no longer up to the job, Ha maybe I could use that and say that I couldn't see the signs.
