Missing payment to credit card company

I have internet banking and a credit card with the same bank. I pay my credit card account in full every month from my internet account. Last month, my credit card (CC)statement included a penalty fee and interest because they claim they have not received payment. My bank says the amount left my internet account on time (7 days before the CC due date). The CC office say they can find no record of being paid. At the moment, I am refusing to pay again or their additional charges. What is my best course of action?

It is your responsibility to

It is your responsibility to make sure that the credit card company receives payment on the due date.  If they do not receive that payment they will charge a penalty and claim interest as well.  In this case the problem seems to be with the bank who have made the payment.  You should formally write to them setting out the facts.  You should ask for an explanation as to why the payment was not made to your credit card company in time.  If they are at fault as would appear they should pay the interest and the penalty.  You should however continue to make payments on the credit card except for the items in dispute and you should write formally to the credit card company to explain fully the situation.
