The Energy Saving Trust and EPCs

Everyone knows that I am a climate change sceptic.

I could go on about this at length but maybe not now.

I have never believed that the introduction of energy performance certificates (EPCs) on a small island such as ours would make the slightest difference in the battle against climate change even I accepted that a battle needed to be fought.

On the other hand I do believe in conservation, making better use of our resources and the reduction of waste.

The EPC could be useful in this respect and we solicitors are in a unique position to put out the message.

It is strange therefore to read this blog:-

This suggests that the Energy Saving Trust has blocked publication of an article designed to encourage conveyancers to give advice on energy efficiency in the home.

Very odd.
