Does this amount to sex discrimination?

A few months ago, a girl at work posted a comment on her facebook status slagging off work. She did it while at work in works time. She had a disciplinary and was given a written warning.

A month ago a lad at work posted a comment on his facebook status slagging off work. He did it while at work during works time. He had a disciplinary and was sacked for it.

Both comments were almost identical. No bad language was used. The girl clearly states who her employer is on her facebook profile, the lad does not state any employer so no one can see where he works. They were both letting off steam. Yet the lad was sacked.

Is this sex discrimination?

Possibly if he was given less

Possibly if he was given less favourable treament because of his sex...these circumstances alone might not give the full picture.,
