Compensation by employers

Dear All

I am a journalist who joined a media organization in the UK 10 years ago.

at the time of joining there was no problem working for foreign mediam according to the laws of my country.

but things changed over the time and the government of my country has frozen my assets very recently.

Neither me nor the media organization I am working for, knew this could happen 10 years ago so there was nothing placed in the contract which shows my consent for such harsh action.

Based on the policy of the media I am working for, everything you say or publish belongs to the the organization and you should not have an opinion.

So practically I have been in trouble for the organization material.

My question is, is the media organization liable for my loss and can it be compensated?

Thanks
