AST Guarantor

I am guarantor on my sons AST contract. I have a copy of the contract and there are no provisions within the contract to explain what I am liable for. Without an explanation within the contract outlining what a guarantee is responsible for - does this mean that the contract is void and I am responsible for nothing? My son has not paid his rent due to financial difficulties and the landlord is pestering me for the money. Do I have to pay? Many thanks

Without seeing the Contract
Without seeing the Contract it is difficult to give a definitive answer.
However, the terms of any contract must be clear, failing which the Contract will be void for uncertainty.
If you can send me a copy of the Contract to icox@s-law.co.uk I will advise further.
